Simplified recruitment of skilled workers from abroad

In this article, we look at the legislative changes in Germany and Austria regarding the immigration of skilled workers.

The German and Austrian authorities will again simplify the laws on recruitment from abroad in November.

At the end of 2022, the number of vacancies in the IT sector stood at 137,000 and a survey showed that around 70 per cent of companies would like to see skilled labour immigration simplified even further.

To meet this wish, it has been and will be made easier for companies to attract well-qualified skilled workers from abroad.

Many jobs that were not counted as shortage occupations according to the law in the past were difficult to fill with foreign personnel. The amendment to the law will also make this easier by expanding the list of shortage occupations and lowering the requirements.

For example, the minimum salary threshold for issuing the Blue Card, which makes it easier for skilled workers to live and stay in the EU, will be lowered to an annual salary of about €40,000 from November.German-speaking countries to companies in Dubai. The DreamsGroup expanded into the Gulf region and added further personnel services to its portfolio.
